Quick: What car comes to mind when you see or hear the word Volkswagen? Chances are good that what you imagine is the iconic, bubbly shape of the Beetle. The Bug is a rock star in the automotive world, with its one-of-a-kind style that has garnered generations of fans. It remains a staple of the VW lineup, and the 2018 Volkswagen Beetle in D'iberville MS retains the characteristics that have made it an icon while pressing forth into the future with a suite of modern features.

Five different models are available for the 2018 Beetle: S, S with Style and Comfort, Coast, SE, and Dune. Each one has its own unique spin on the classic name. With standard fuel economy of 26 city and 33 highway miles per gallon, no matter which Beetle you choose, your wallet will be happy. Let's take a deeper dive into the 2018 Beetle.

What's new for the 2018 VW Beetle?

First and foremost, all of the latest VW Beetle models have a stronger beating heart under the hood, with the most advanced EA888 engine ever. Horsepower gets a boost up to 174 HP while still allowing it to retain the fuel efficiency that helps make the car such a winning option for commuters. The 2018 Beetle is also now offered with a standard automatic transmission with Volkswagen Tiptronic® in the S, Coast, SE, and Dune models.

You may have noticed an interesting model name above: S with Style and Comfort. This new package includes a 6.3-inch Composition Media touchscreen infotainment display, SiriusXM® satellite radio, Volkswagen Car-Net® App-Connect, Voice Control, keyless access with push-button start, heated leatherette seats with lumbar adjustment, 17-inch "Philadelphia" aluminum-alloy wheels, body-color door handles and side sills, body-color mirrors with integrated turn signals inside the mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and automatic headlights.

Another new Beetle model that may have caught your interest is the Coast, which offers a surfboard wood-look dashpad, an ocean-inspired Deep Sea Teal exterior color option, and more. The Beetle SE model has a few upgrades for 2018, which include standard Climatronic® dual-zone automatic climate control, exterior chrome trim on the lower window, and standard Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. While the Beetle is a legend, that does not mean it is stuck in the past. Contact us if you would like to get behind the wheel of this legend for yourself.
